Meet the Winners of the Zochem Brampton Facility Scholarship

This year, Zochem Inc. is proud to announce the recipients of its inaugural scholarship program at the Brampton facility. The program was created to give back to Zochem’s dedicated employees and their families in a meaningful way, demonstrating the company’s commitment to both its team and the local community. The scholarship is open to the immediate family members—spouses, domestic partners, and children—of current, active Zochem employees. The application process is managed by International Scholarship and Tuition Services (ISTS), ensuring a fair and impartial selection of winners. Through this initiative, Zochem aims to support its employees’ families as they pursue their educational goals. Now, to introduce our winners!

Arvin Mehdian is the son of our North Plant Manager Shahram Mehdian. He is attending Ivey School of Business at Western University, and he is studying Digital Management Stream. From Arvin, “During the 2024–2025 academic year at Western University, I was actively involved in several extracurricular and scholastic clubs. I served as the Vice President of Academics for the Chemistry Club, where I led initiatives to support undergraduate learning, including organizing exam review sessions for first year chemistry courses and managing a team of academic mentors. I also represented the Department of Chemistry on the Science Students’ Council, advocating for student needs and contributing to campus-wide academic and engagement initiatives.”

Arvin is an active volunteer through his school, “In March 2025, I volunteered at Western University’s Spring Open House, where I represented the Chemistry Department to help inspire prospective students. At the chemistry booth, I conducted live demonstrations and answered questions from high school students and their families, sharing insights into the program and my personal experiences as a student. In addition to my work at the booth, I also helped lead a faculty-wide Q&A session for the Faculty of Science, providing guidance and answering questions from both students and parents considering attending Western.”

Farhan Dogar is the husband of one of our Quality Control Technicians, Zoya Nadeem. He is attending Centennial College and studying Cybersecurity. Per Farhan, “Outside of academics, I’ve always enjoyed playing cricket with friends and traveling whenever I get the chance. Cricket keeps me active and connected, and traveling helps me see the world from different perspectives. I genuinely love doing both, but over the past year, it’s been really difficult to keep up with these activities because of my disability. Even so, I try to stay as engaged as I can, and I’m focused on gradually finding ways to adapt and stay involved in the things I’m passionate about.” Farhan is an active volunteer in the community, “I also volunteered with a digital literacy initiative through Freedom Mobile, where I helped seniors in the community improve their comfort with using smartphones and mobile technology. I supported them in learning how to navigate essential apps, access online services, and stay connected with loved ones.”

This scholarship is more than just financial aid; it’s a testament to our belief in the power of education and a direct investment in the futures of our employees’ families. As Zochem’s President and CEO, Mohit Sharma, expressed, “The Zochem Scholarship program demonstrates our commitment to shaping the future, and it brings me great joy to support individuals like Arvin and Farhan. I eagerly look forward to honoring new and deserving recipients in 2026 and witnessing the lasting positive impact this program will have in the years to come. Congratulations, Arvin and Farhan!”

We at Zochem extend our warmest congratulations to Arvin Mehdian and Farhan Dogar on their remarkable achievements. Their academic dedication and commitment to community service truly embody the values Zochem holds dear.
