Adhesives
Zinc oxide is used in pressure-sensitive, rubber based adhesives for its superior tack retention. Its bactericidal properties are also important in surgical and first aid tapes. ZOCHEM produces a complete range from technical grades for industrial tapes, to pharmaceutical grades for surgical tapes.

Plastics
Mixed metal stabilizers for plastics are an important and growing use for zinc oxide. While Ba/Zn and Ca/Zn liquid stabilizers have been the most popular stabilizers for PVC plastisols, environmentally friendly Ba/Zn systems are now replacing cadmium - containing stabilizers. Our Zoco 100 or 104 grades are recommended for these applications; or our Zoco 112 USP for plastic products which come in contact with food. The opacity of zinc oxide to ultraviolet radiation makes it a useful pigment to protect outdoor plastic compounds from UV degradation. Our Zoco 104 has the optimum particle size to block UV rays.

Agricultural
Zinc oxide is widely used to supply zinc as a trace element for crops in fertilizers and sprays and for animal nutrition in prepared feeds.

Miscellaneous
ZOCHEM produces grades of zinc oxide for uses in brake pads, white greases, matches and the removal of hydrogen sulphide from gases and liquids.
